Located very close to the iconic Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona, specifically on calle Mallorca, and designed by the prestigious interior designer Tomás Alía.
Carla, from the Room Mate chain, is characterized by an avant-garde style with a clear inspiration from Gaudí and modernism, with a cosmopolitan touch. Each room is unique and different; however, they all share the same aesthetic and influence.
Dajor Lighting Factory was commissioned to manufacture floor lamps of geometric shapes in mirror finish that were placed in the lobby, a tribute of the hotel to Gaudi’s architecture.
We also manufactured a large multi-arm pendant lamp for the lobby that emits a soft warm light to create cozy environments and promotes an environment of relaxation.
For the hotel restaurant, we also manufactured metal panels in brass finish with integrated and very warm LED lights, to create an intimate and pleasant space to enjoy a good dinner.
Following Alía’s instructions and without losing the design purpose, we manufactured geometric lamps for the rooms, along with very minimalist chrome-finished wall sconces for the bed.
Finally, we also designed floor lamps with gray parchment lampshade matching the blue and chrome tones of the hotel’s reception and café-lounge.
The stars of this hotel’s lighting have been the large floor lamps in the lobby, manufactured in a mirror-like finish and geometric in tune with the Gaudí-inspired decoration.
Tomás Alía, besides being one of the most prestigious interior designers in Spain, has also been the designer of seven other hotels in the Room Mate chain: Aitana (Netherlands), Emma (Barcelona), Valentina (Mexico City) and Mario, Laura and Oscar (Madrid).
